Cross-Stitch Victory!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

I feel like giving myself a huge pat-on-the back today! I finally finished this cross-stitch project for my mom! I started it four or five years ago (I can’t even remember now) to give to her as a birthday gift, and whaddya know, it’s finally done (too bad her birthday was in June).

I chose this design because my mom loves lighthouses and she also loves the serenity poem. I remember we had it in a cross-stitch hanging on the wall in our house when I was growing up.

I enjoyed doing the counted cross-stitch, but I think I would prefer the freedom of embroidery, and that’s my next craft to tackle!

Here’s some detail of the stitching.

This is great – I have one of a pot of lavender that I started about 5 years ago and haven’t finished. It is at my Mum’s in Australia… guess it will never get done!
Hope your Mum likes it and appreciates the effort! Sure she will

This is beautiful. I know it took a bit of time to finish it.
