As a participant in Green & Clean Mom‘s Mommy Go Green Blog Tour, I have an exciting website review and giveaway for you this week…
What is EcoBrain?
EcoBrain is a retailer of green-living-themed ebooks, as their tagline says: green books for green living.
The ebook market is a growing way for authors to publish books online. Having an entire outlet for ebooks based on sustainable and environmentally-safe living, not only saves the trees that would be used to print the pages, but also provides these authors an avenue to “publish” their books on a site where they will reach an audience that would be interested in the topic of the book.
EcoBrain offers hundreds of books in several different categories– basically everything you could want related to green living: The Environment (149), Sustainable Living (99), Renewable Energy (16), Climate Change (23), Business & Professional (73), Environmental Science (236), Health (90), Academic (90), Fiction (3), Memoirs (54), Outdoor Activities (76), Religious (11), Nature (130), Cooking (74), Green Building (33), Gardening and Agriculture (83), and EcoBrain Kids (171).
One of the things I like about EcoBrain is that it began when two families with publishing backgrounds decided to start a business where people could “learn more about the environment from the experts while helping reduce waste and costs.”
As an avid reader and lover of books, I have a hard time with the thought of giving up real, tangible books completely. But I think starting with books about the environment and green living is a great place to begin “greening my reading.” I’m of the mindset (as I know Green & Clean Mom is, too) that every little bit helps. And buying and downloading ebooks, at the least in this genre, is a great starting place.
The ebooks on EcoBrain are affordably priced and available for easy downloading. If you like, you can read them on your computer or a handheld device, or print out the pages you need (on recycled paper, of course!). In addition, the website is easy to navigate, and membership is free (and if you sign up by Nov. 1st, you will receive a $5 credit in your account!).
If you’re interested in ebooks and EcoBrain sounds like something you’d like, surf on over to register and you can even join their affiliate program where you can earn credits towards purchases. And to start, you can click the banner in this post to support my ebook habit!

I’m stoked to offer you the chance to win an ebook from EcoBrain, called Radical Simplicity: Small Footprints on a Finite Earth by Jim Merkel. The book sounds awesome, and I look forward to reading it myself!
About The Book
In the face of looming ecological disaster, many people feel the need to change their own lifestyles as a tangible way of transforming our unsustainable culture. Radical Simplicity is the first book that guides the reader to a personal sustainability goal, then offers a process to monitor progress to a lifestyle that is equitable amongst all people, species, and generations. It employs three tools to help readers begin their customized journey to simplicity:
- It builds on steps from Your Money or Your Life so readers can design their own personal economics to save money, get free of debt, and align their work with their values.
- It uses refined tools from Our Ecological Footprint so readers can measure how much nature is needed to supply all they consume and absorb their waste.
- And by advocating time alone in wild nature, it opens readers to another reality with humanity as one species among many on a complex and inter-related planet.
Combining lyrical narrative, compassionate advocacy and absorbing science, Radical Simplicity is a practical, personal answer to 21st century challenges that will appeal as much to Cultural Creatives and students as to spiritual seekers, policy makers and sustainability professionals.
