I feel the same way you do!! And I also have torn out several pages and tucked them away. But I also like my eclectic way of decorating. I also heard that at the Lake Elsinore outlet mall, there is a PB outlet store. Haven't been there, but I have heard they have a lot of furniture. Amen! I like the whimsy PB bird and fairy collection so I've started cutting out pics from the magazine and collecting material to try to sew some toys, pillows and wall hangings. I'm not sure that it will actually be cheaper in the end, but at least I'll have the style I like and the item that no one else has! sarahs last blog post..What? It's 2009?

I like Pottery Barn rugs and curtains. I think it’s hard to find the quality and style elsewhere, but I wait until they are no longer being made and then I find them greatly discounted on eBay. It took about 7-8 months, but I won auctions for 5 silk curtains for my living room. I paid about $700-800 less than retail. When I calculated, I found that I wouldn’t have been able to purchase the silk and lining fabric for less than I paid on eBay… and then I would have had to spend the time to make 8 foot tall, lined and pleated curtains. So it was a better deal in that case to do it that way. I also bought 2 discontinued rugs for about $600 less than retail and they were great… brand new in the package. So yes, it can be done!
