The winner of the Cookie Craft Giveaway is #9 – Sheila. I will contact you via email. Congratulations!
I recently had the privilege of hosting my first baby shower for a very special friend.
The shower was quite large, we had 50 guests, so to keep the day affordable, and to bless the Mom-to-be I had several of our friends from church provide food.
I drafted a flexible menu and then asked people to pick something from the menu to make or buy, or suggest something that they thought would fit with our suggestions.
Drinks:
Tea
Coffee
Strawberry Lemonade
Food:
Tea sandwiches
Tortilla pinwheels
Bite sized brownies
Lemon bars
Cookies
Scones with jam, cream, and lemon curd
Fruit
Cupcakes
Rocky road
As well as this I made rice krispie treats (the Mommy’s favorite) as favors. I drizzled them with melted blue chocolate (candy melts from a craft store) and tied them with ribbons and tags to match our theme colors.
The shower was great fun, and having everyone pitch in with the food made it much easier to host. Having a theme and menu helped keep things cohesive, and give people guidance on what to bring.
