Just a brief encouragement for you today--
Don't be afraid to extend that first invitation to someone you have been wanting to get to know, or to someone the Lord has laid on your heart. You never know how you might impact or encourage someone who has been desiring community themselves.
Sometimes we find friendship in unexpected places and at unexpected times. So send an email, exchange numbers, schedule a playdate, make a coffee date. This just might be the season you make a new lifelong friend.
I wrote about this a few months ago on Simple Mom, when I encouraged readers to go out on a limb, and I'm doing it again because it is such an important part of being intentional in embracing community. We have to be willing to put ourselves out there sometimes if we want to experience all the amazing relationships the Lord has for us.
