This is Day 21 of 31 Days of Intentional Community. Thanks for reading along!
I love this beautiful picture of what intentional community in the church looks like in Acts 2:42-47~
The Fellowship of the Believers
And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
I was reminded of this passage yesterday... our water filter broke last week and then just last night a friend gave me her Brita that she no longer needed (she also gave me some really cute sunglasses!). Thanks, Sarah!
I love to pass on well-loved things that we don't need anymore and I also loving being on the receiving end of such simple generosity. I've seen God provide for us in handmedowns of clothes, school supplies, furniture, food, money and more! God is so good and takes care of us-- what an honor to be used by Him in that way.
Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Romans 12:13
