This is one of those reviews I couldn't wait to bring to you. I've read a few other books by Rachel Hauck and I've always enjoyed her writing. Once Upon a Prince is an entertaining read-- a modern-day fairy tale that's romantic but not too cheesy, spiritual development in the hearts of the characters, but again, not too cheesy like so many Christian novels tend to be. One of the fun things about this book was the kingdom that Ms. Hauck invented with such imagination, and all the royal ways of life and characters. I loved reading the Princess Diaries books and the movie The Prince and Me has always been a favorite girly indulgence and this book fits along in the same fun genre of stories where modern life and fairy-tale romance collide.
I'm definitely hooked on the series and look forward to reading the next books.
About Once Upon A Prince: The Royal Wedding Series Book One
Susanna Truitt never dreamed of a great romance or being treated like a princess---just to marry the man she has loved for twelve years. But life isn't going according to plan. When her high-school-sweetheart-turned-Marine-officer breaks up instead of proposing, Susanna scrambles to rebuild her life.
The last thing Prince Nathaniel expects to find on his American holiday to St. Simon's Island is the queen of his heart. A prince has duties, and his family's tense political situation has chosen his bride for him. When Prince Nathaniel comes to Susanna's aid under the fabled Lover's Oak, he is blindsided by love.
Their lives are worlds apart. He's a royal prince. She's a ordinary girl. But everything changes when Susanna receives an invitation to Nathaniel's coronation.
It's the ultimate choice. His kingdom or her heart? God's will or their own?
